On the road to Bockfest 2009

An outdoor beer festival in the middle of a Wisconsin winter is an event not to missed, especially when liter-sized mugs of Capital Brewery’s notorious Blonde Doppelbock are involved. Seriously, when uncooperative weather threatened to derail my trip to Bockfest one year, I skied 3 miles in a blizzard to hitch a ride.

The 16th Bockfest promises to be every bit as exquisite as its predecessors, replete with costumes, live music, the Running of the Blondes, and, of course, plenty of Doppelbock to fortify attendees against the elements. No word on whether the usual rooftop fish flinging antics will continue without former brewmaster Kirby Nelson.
